Cardboard toys are all the rage in children's handicraft blogs. Apart from looking really cool, what makes them really special is the way that they are made. Today we are going to make a camera that lets our little one invent amazing stories: special correspondent to Africa, fashion photographer or a tourist in the middle of Tokyo. Whatever the story, it has to turn look great in the photo, and so…mum, dad, say cheese!
MATERIAL
- Apli fluorescent Eva coloured foam
- Apli coloured adhesive tape
- Apli twine
- Apli scissors
- Apli cutter
- Apli white glue
STEP 1
First
we create the viewfinder, draw it on top of the cardboard with the pencil and cut it out with the cutter.
STEP 2
We cut out the parts of the camera with the Eva fluorescent foam. We can use a cup to create the circle with a broader radius and the adhesive tape itself to create the second smaller circle. We have chosen pink for the top and the lens. Using the
Eva yellow fluorescent foam, we cut out a small rectangle to simulate the
flash. Using the
Eva green fluorescent foam, we make the
button. We stick on two with the white glue to give it more volume.
STEP 3.
Stick black adhesive tape in the centre of the camera to create the effect of a hole, the contour of the camera and the viewfinder.
STEP 4.
Our reporter needs to be comfortable with his camera.
What do you think about creating a strap to let it hang around our little one's neck? Easy peasy, we will glue the Apli twine at the ends of the camera with adhesive tape and add a small piece of Eva Green fluorescent foam to prevent the twine from rubbing against his skin. We cover all the details!
STEP 5.
1, 2, 3 Cheeeeese!
The camera loves you!
